School Uniform Guidelines

Dress for Success at Kennedy Elementary

Help your child start the school year ready to learn! Kennedy Elementary students are expected to follow the campus school uniform guidelines each day. Please review the information below to ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the first day of school and throughout the year. Following the dress code promotes school pride, creates a positive learning environment, and helps students stay focused on learning.

Kennedy Elementary School Dress Code

School Year 2026 to 2027

Our dress code promotes a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment.

Tops

  • Solid color polo shirts only.
  • No large logos or graphics.

Special Days

  • Wednesdays: Students may wear a college T shirt with jeans.
    • If a student chooses not to wear a college shirt, the regular uniform is required.
  • Fridays: Students may wear a Kennedy spirit shirt with jeans.
    • If a student chooses not to wear a spirit shirt, the regular uniform is required.

Bottoms

Colors

  • Khaki
  • Navy
  • Black

Approved

  • Pants
  • Knee length shorts
  • Knee length skirts
  • Uniform dresses

Jeans

  • Permitted only on Wednesdays and Fridays when wearing the approved college or spirit shirt.
  • Jeans must not have:
    • Rips
    • Holes
    • Excessive stitching

Shoes

Approved

  • Closed toe shoes
  • Athletic shoes
  • Dress shoes

Not Allowed

  • Crocs
  • Slides
  • Flip flops
  • High heels
  • House shoes or slippers
  • Shoes with lights

Outerwear and Accessories

  • Solid color sweaters, jackets, and hoodies are allowed.
  • No inappropriate graphics or language.
  • Hats, hoods, and sunglasses must remain off inside the building.

Belts

  • Belts are required if pants or shorts do not fit properly at the waist.

Fit and Length

  • Bottoms must fit properly.
  • Shorts and skirts must be knee length.

Administration Discretion

  • School administration reserves the right to determine whether attire is appropriate.
  • If a student is not in dress code, parents will be contacted and must bring the appropriate uniform.

Do Not Wear

  • Ripped jeans or jeans with holes or excessive stitching
  • Pajamas or sleepwear
  • Clothing with inappropriate language or graphics
  • Excessive jewelry or accessories
  • Chains or spiked items
